About the Speaker

Elke Reichel, Dipl.-Ing., born 1975 in Marienberg, is one of the founders and partners of REICHEL SCHLAIER ARCHITEKTEN in Stuttgart. She studied at the TU Dresden and at the Mackintosh School of Architecture at the Glasgow School of Art. After completing her studies, she worked at Behnisch Architekten in Stuttgart from 2001 to 2009 and was project manager for the OZEANEUM Stralsund, among other things. In 2009, she founded her own architecture firm, which became REICHEL SCHLAIER ARCHITEKTEN together with Peter Schlaier in 2011. From 2013 to 2019, she was a member of the executive committee of the BDA (Association of German Architects). She is currently a member of the Design Advisory Board of the City of Freiburg and is a member of the Spinelli-Areal planning commission in Mannheim. Since 2021, she has held the professorship for design and building typology at TU Darmstadt.
