Dietmar Eberle studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology from 1973 to 1978. From 1979 onwards, he was active in the working groups Cooperative Bau- und Planungsges. m.b.H. (1979-1982), Eberle-Egger (1982-1984) and with Carlo Baumschlager (1985-2009).Baumschlager Eberle Architekten was founded in 1985 and is today an international architectural office with eleven locations in Europe and Asia. In 1983, Eberle began teaching at universities in Hanover, Vienna, Linz, Syracuse (N.Y.), Darmstadt, Madrid, Jerusalem, Hong Kong and Nanjing. In 1999, he was appointed Professor of Architecture and Design at ETH Zurich, where he also headed the ETH Housing Forum until 2016. A large number of prizes and awards, as well as honorary membership of the American Institute of Architects in 2004, are testament to the success of his work.
