About Speaker

Martin Murphy was born in 1966 in Wallasey, UK. After completing his studies in London and Canterbury in 1991 at the Canterbury College of Art and Design, he passed his postgraduate studies at Politecnica de Madrid. After working with Christoph Ingenhoven Architekten in Düsseldorf, he joined Alsop & Störmer Architects, Hamburg in 1995 and has been a partner of Störmer Murphy and Partners since 2004. 

The focus of the office’s activities is the planning of hotels and office buildings, residential developments and museums. Their project portfolio ranges from the refurbishment of heritage-listed buildings to new building designs, from interior fit outs to town planning, from feasibility studies to general contractor activities. Martin Murphy has been living in Hamburg for twenty-five years and calls the city his chosen home. Aside from his work on national and international projects, he is member of juries of several architectural competitions and is holding lectures internationally.
