About Speaker

Anna Popelka absolvierte ihr Architekturstudium an der TU Graz. 1995 gründete sie, zusammen mit Georg Poduschka, das Büro PPAG in Wien. Seit 2006 firmiert dieses unter dem Namen PPAG architects ztgmbh, vorwiegend in Wien, aber auch in Berlin und Norwegen. Obwohl bewusst das gesamte Feld der Architektur bearbeitet wird, haben sich in den letzten Jahren Schwerpunkte im Wohn- und Bildungsbau ergeben, wie der Wohnhügel Europan 6 und der Bildungscampus Sonnwendviertel in Wien, die Slim City in Aspern oder die Sekundarschule in Sauland (NO), aber auch spezielle Projekte wie das Büro- und Geschäftshaus Pah Cej-Kah oder das Restaurant Steirereck. Das Büro erhielt zahlreiche nationale und internationale Auszeichnungen, darunter die zweimalige Nominierung für den „Mies van der Rohe Award“. Popelka hatte Gastprofessuren in Wien und Graz inne und ist Mitglied des Innsbrucker Gestaltungsbeirats. 2019 wurde sie mit dem Österreichischen Hans-Hollein-Kunstpreis für Architektur ausgezeichnet.
