On Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Danish Architecture Center (DAC) in Copenhagen, AnA will bring together a bringing together one of the most celebrated Mexican architects, Gabriela Carrillo, the prominent Danish architect, urban designer, and founding partner and chairman of the Board at Gehl, Helle Søholt, and the Global Design Director of one of Scandinavia’s most respected architecture firms, Greta Tiedje. They will share insights into their personal journeys, focusing on the key creative moments that influenced their architectural careers:

“Architects, not Architecture”, or “AnA”, gives guests the chance to get to know world-renowned architects on a more personal level as there is only one golden rule: speakers are not allowed to talk about their architectural projects. This has allowed audiences around the globe to enjoy unique personal content since the format was introduced in 2015.

Gabriela Carrillo, founder of Taller Gabriela Carrillo and co-founder of the collective C733, is known for her socially committed and ecologically sensitive approach to architecture. Helle Soeholt has developed Gehl to be a global recognized leader on Urban Strategy and Design, with offices in Copenhagen, New York, San Francisco and a networked organization also working from Germany, Portugal, Spain and Dubai. Greta Tiedje has worked across Germany and Denmark over the course of her career and has taught at the Royal Danish Academy. In her current role, she guides design strategy across Henning Larsen’s international network of studios.

About the Speakers
Gabriela Carrillo is the founder of Taller Gabriela Carrillo, a collaborative and interdisciplinary practice established in Mexico City in 2019, dedicated to designing meaningful architectural interventions across public and private spheres. With more than two decades of experience, Carrillo brings to the studio a distinguished trajectory that includes the Emerging Voices Award (2014), the Médaille d’OR from the French Academy of Architecture, the Royal Academy Dorfman Award (2023), and the Obel Award (2024) as co-founder of Colectivo C733. Previously a partner at Taller Rocha Carrillo, she has been recognized as “Architect of the Year” by Architectural Review and Architectural Digest Mexico. The studio operates through principles of observation, respect for territory, and an emphasis on diversity, sensitivity, and collaboration, approaching each project as an opportunity to generate spatial dignity and delight. Parallel to practice, Carrillo has been an academic at UNAM since 2003, where she leads the Estudio RX seminar, and has taught at institutions including Harvard GSD and Kent State. Her work has been exhibited globally and published in Domus, Casabella, Arquitectura Viva, and Architectural Review.

Helle Søholt is Founding Partner and Chairman of the Board at Gehl. She co-founded Gehl with Professor Jan Gehl in 2000. Through her leadership and strategic and organizational talent, she shaped Gehl into an internationally respected practice at the forefront of urban design and urban development. Today, she continues to support Gehl’s long-term vision and global impact, working towards making cities more livable and sustainable around the world.

Greta Tiedje is Global Design Director at Henning Larsen, responsible for the studio’s design vision, design method, and visual direction globally. She leads design on selected projects, drawing on over 15 years of experience. At Henning Larsen, an international design studio, she maintains the balance of hands-on capabilities and artistic sensitivity that lies at the core of the studio’s design language. Working across architecture, landscape, urban design and interiors, the studio navigates the complex connections that bind together the built environment, ecological systems, and societies at large. Greta’s work reflects this, focusing on context, social impact, and spatial innovation, uncovering possibilities that respect existing surroundings while reinterpreting and bringing new life to each place. Greta has worked across Germany and Denmark and taught at the Royal Danish Academy.
