About Speaker
Massimiliano Fuksas is an Italian all-rounder. He is an architect, designer, humanist, poet, and painter at the same time. He completed his architectural studies in Rome in 1969. Shortly thereafter, he opened his first own architectural studio in Rome. In the 1980s, he shifted the focus to France. Fuksas has offices in Rome, Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt am Main and Shenzhen. At the end of 2001 he was the Artistic Director of Berisch Architecture at the Venice Biennale.Â
Massimiliano Fuksas has been a visiting professor at various universities in Europe and the USA, such as the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and the Columbia University in New York. He also has been writing a weekly column in L’Espresso magazine since 2000. In 2002, he became an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and in 2003 a member of the International Academy of Architecture (IAA) in Sofia.
