We are proud to announce our first event in Sweden!!
After hosting events in more than 10 countries, and bringing together architects and fans of architecture around the world both virtually and physically, we are excited to finally bring our format to Stockholm.
“Architects, not Architecture”, or “AnA”, gives guests the chance to get to know world-renowned architects on a more personal level as there is only one golden rule: speakers are not allowed to talk about their architectural projects. This has allowed audiences around the globe to enjoy unique personal content since the format was first introduced in 2015.
On Thursday, September 21, at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, we will bring together three prominent Swedish architects and a Palestinian architect and educator. The trio will talk about their personal experiences and the influences that impacted them as architects in the most important creative periods in their lives:

The event venue
Silent Green Kulturquartier is an event venue and independent project that has found a unique home in Berlin in the historic premises of the former crematorium in Wedding. The heart of silent green is the Kuppelhalle, with its 17 meter tall dome. The architectural layout, pyramid-shaped mansard roof, and the historical terrazzo floor of the hall make it a distinctive venue that instantly turns every event into an extraordinary experience.
About the Speakers
Pye Aurell Ehrström has worked as an architect since 1998 and is educated at KTH in Stockholm, LTH in Lund and ETSAB in Barcelona. In 2002 she co-founded Marge Arkitekter together with Katarina Grundsell, Louise Masreliez and Susanne Ramel and the firm rapidly became recognized as one of the young firms representing a contemporary development of architecture in Sweden. Pye has led several of the studio’s award-winning projects from the small-scale pavilions to the larger city development projects. She has participated in several complex building projects with cultural-historical value and has experience in leading projects in sensitive environments. She was leading the project Sergelhuset Building Complex with great emphasis on urban development, transformation, and façade design. Her projects have been nominated for the Kasper Salin Prize and in 2016 she received the Prince Eugen Medal for outstanding artistic achievements.

Tham & Videgård are based in Stockholm, Sweden, and directed by co-founders and lead architects Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård. Since the start in 1999, the practice has attracted attention for its many innovative built works developed with inspiration from the specifics of each site. Tham & Videgård’s projects have won several national and international awards, they also won the Kasper Salin Prize in 2008 and 2015 for best new architecture in Sweden. Major works include the new KTH School of Architecture for the Royal Institute of Technology, the Kalmar Museum of Art, and the Moderna Museet Malmö. Tham & Videgård are regularly invited to participate in international exhibitions such as the Venice Architecture Biennales, The Chicago Architecture Biennial, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London UK and at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark. Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård are members of the Royal Academy of Arts and regularly teach and lecture at schools of architecture in Sweden and abroad. www.thamvidegard.se
Sandi Hilal is an architect, artist, and educator. She has developed a research and project-based artistic practice that is both theoretically ambitious and practically engaged in the struggle for justice and equality.
Currently, she serves as the Co-Director of DAAR, Decolonizing Architecture Art Research, an architectural and art collective that she co-founded in 2007 with Alessandro Petti and Eyal Weizman, in Beit Sahour, Palestine. Additionally, she is a Visiting Architecture Professor at Lund University. In 2012, along with Alessandro Petti, she founded Campus in Camps, an experimental educational program in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem. Her latest publications include “Refugee Heritage” (2021) and “Permanent Temporariness” (2019). In 2023, Alessandro Petti and Sandi Hilal were awarded the Golden Lion for Best Participation at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, in recognition of their long-standing commitment to deep political engagement with architectural and learning practices of decolonization in Palestine and Europe.
