Home Edition 2020
Let’s keep the cultural life alive! As a consequence of Covid-19, our social and cultural life has been reduced to a minimum and we all need to adapt to this unprecedented situation. Since we have a commitment with you, with the architecture scene, we came up with this new idea that is meant to lift your spirits and provide you with some genuine inspiration – at your home. Therefore, from Monday, March 23rd, onwards, each day at 7 p.m. we will be sharing one of the unique talks from the previous 35 events that we have held during the last 5 years.
TALK #45: Richard Rogers
About Richard George Rogers
Richard George Rogers is an Italian-British architect and 2007 Pritzker Prize winner. During his two-year military service, he learned to know about the work of Ernesto Nathan Rogers (BBPR), a well-known Italian architect and his father’s cousin. As a result, Rogers decided to study at the Architectural Association School in London. In 1961 he continued to study at the Yale School of Art and Architecture on receiving a scholarship. He founded Richard Rogers Partnership in 1977 with offices in London, Barcelona, Madrid and Tokyo. The partnership expanded in 2007 and he changed the name to Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners. From 1998 to 2005, Rogers chaired the Urban Task Force, a UK government working group on urban renewal issues. He gained international fame through such structures as Lloyd’s in London, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the Millennium Dome in London. His works are characterized by a demonstrative use of high-tech elements. www.rsh-p.com
AnA Hamburg 07 – This was our 3rd Anniversary! On November 15, 2017, we celebrated one year of AnA with three well-know international speakers on stage: Christoph Ingenhoven, Carme Pinós and Richard Rogers, who was chosen as the Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2007.
This talk is presented with the support of BoConcept.
For Richard Rogers „architecture is about spaces and places“. In his talk he speaks about the combination of influences and the different places that inspired him to create his unique designs. Oki Sato from nendo design studio, created the fusion furniture collection for BoConcept.
Inspired by the art of origami, the fusion armchair is an iconic piece of design furniture with a minimalist yet characteristic form, a beautiful mix of Japanese design tradition and Danish craftmanship. The clever combination of the heavy seat and the slim wooden legs gives all honor to its name and creates a unique sculptural look making the fusion armchair a true design statement in every living room. The inviting plump seat is just waiting to give you a hug. It is available with two different leg colours and more than a 100 different fabrics and leathers. Virtual Feedback Cards for the Speaker
Maybe you have never attended our events, but perhaps know this already. Your effort is required! As the speakers share many of their personal experiences with us, we would like to present them a special gift, now digitally.
Please write into the text box below what you enjoyed most about the talk. Our goal is to present each speaker with personal feedback cards, as we do at our events. At our events, we collect the cards right before we start with the round-table-discussion and hand them over in a box at the end of the event.
Please participate! Our speakers love it and we want to continue with this tradition.
Here, we will collect the messages and forward them via e.mail to our speaker:
