Home Edition 2020
Let’s keep the cultural life alive! As a consequence of Covid-19, our social and cultural life has been reduced to a minimum and we all need to adapt to this unprecedented situation. Since we have a commitment with you, with the architecture scene, we came up with this new idea that is meant to lift your spirits and provide you with some genuine inspiration – at your home. Therefore, from Monday, March 23rd, onwards, each day at 7 p.m. we will be sharing one of the unique talks from the previous 35 events that we have held during the last 5 years.
TALK #27: Reiulf Ramstad
About Reiulf Ramstad
Reiulf Ramstad received Dottore in Architettura from Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, Venice, Italy. He established Reiulf Ramstad Architects (RRA) in 1995 in order to create an architectural practice that would turn conceptual research and practical knowledge into driving forces of sustainable design. RRA has earned a reputation for innovative architecture, displaying deep understanding of the uniqueness of every site and program and rejecting standardized solutions. Apart from professional work as an architect, Reiulf is also involved in academic activities. He has earned professorship from Arkitekthøgskolen in Oslo and was a regular thesis advisor and juror in the Faculty of Architecture. Reiulf was acclaimed professionally as board member of NAL, the National Association of Norwegian Architects, in the period between 1997 and 2000, where he became vice president between 2000-2002. In 2016, he was elevated to Honorary Fellow of The College of Fellows, by The American Institute of Architects. www.reiulframstadarchitects.com
AnA Berlin 04 – Architects, not Architecture took place in Berlin for the fourth time at November 13, 2019. It was a pleasure to welcome three outstanding architects to the stage of the ATZE Theater and learn about their inspirations and mindsets. Amandus Samsøe Sattler, Reiulf Ramstad and Anna Popelka.
This talk is presented with the support of OBJECT CARPET.
In his talk, Reiulf Ramstad speaks about his connection to nature and how we have to change our attitude to save the planet. For him the ocean has always been „the mother of everything“.
OBJECT CARPET shares this mindset and created the VELAA design to protect the seas.
In Dhivehi, the official language of the Maldives, “velaa” means turtle. It is after this extremely endangered species that OBJECT CARPET has named their new design developed exclusively for Healthy Seas. Practical protection of seas and an aesthetic highlight with future potential. Available both as broadloom and Acoustic Tiles. The graphic structure of the design is derived from the sea turtle shell pattern. With each square meter of VELAA produced, they support the sustainable initiative for the protection of our seas. Virtual Feedback Cards for the Speaker
Maybe you have never attended our events, but perhaps know this already. Your effort is required! As the speakers share many of their personal experiences with us, we would like to present them a special gift, now digitally.
Please write into the text box below what you enjoyed most about the talk. Our goal is to present each speaker with personal feedback cards, as we do at our events. At our events, we collect the cards right before we start with the round-table-discussion and hand them over in a box at the end of the event.
Please participate! Our speakers love it and we want to continue with this tradition.
Here, we will collect the messages and forward them via e.mail to our speaker:
