Home Edition 2020

Let’s keep the cultural life alive!  As a consequence of Covid-19, our social and cultural life has been reduced to a minimum and we all need to adapt to this unprecedented situation. Since we have a commitment with you, with the architecture scene, we came up with this new idea that is meant to lift your spirits and provide you with some genuine inspiration – at your home. Therefore, from Monday, March 23rd, onwards, each day at 7 p.m. we will be sharing one of the unique talks from the previous 35 events that we have held during the last 5 years.

TALK #41: Einar Jarmund
This talk is presented by swissFineLine.

About Einar Jarmund

Einar Jarmund is a Norwegian architect born in 1962. He is the founder of Einar Jarmund & Co AS Arkitekter MNAL, an Oslo-based architecture and design studio established in April 2019. It was founded as Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Arkitekter MNAL in 1996 by Einar Jarmund and Håkon Vigsnæs. Einar Jarmund graduated from the School of Architecture in Oslo 1987 and gained a Masters Degree in Architecture at the University of Washington in 1989 in Seattle, Washington, USA.

After leading his own architecture office until 1992, he worked for several architects in Seattle and Oslo and co-founded JVA in 1996, an office which was awarded with the Grosch Medal 2018 for “projects that have been, and will continue to be, of importance to the development of Norwegian architecture”. His firm is working on a wide architectural range with commissions mainly in Norway but also in other European countries. www.ejco.no

AnA Oslo 02 – One year after we held our first event in Norway, we returned to the Vulkan Arena in Oslo on September 19, 2019. Two Norwegian and one Canadian architect talked about their personal experiences and important creative periods within their career paths: Kari Nissen Brodtkorb, Einar Jarmund and Todd Saunders.

This talk is presented with the support of swissFineLine
One thing we see again in Einar Jarmund’s talk and many of our Norwegian speakers is their connection to nature. The same passion that swissFineLine has. They focus on living close to nature; letting the interior flow outside without a threshold – that means living with light, air and nature.

swissFineLine creates a unique sense of space, and thus improves the quality of life significantly. Transparent structures let the light flow through as if the matter did not exist. For this reason, the profile views of the swissFineLine glazing profiles are reduced to an absolute minimum. A flowing transition between inside and outside is created and connects the living space with the surrounding landscape outside.

Their philosophy is based on the “Swiss level of perfection” principle, which means that, for them, only the best is good enough. Check out their different system versions: www.swissfineline.ch

Virtual Feedback Cards for the Speaker

Dear viewer,
Maybe you have never attended our events, but perhaps know this already. Your effort is required! As the speakers share many of their personal experiences with us, we would like to present them a special gift, now digitally.

Please write into the text box below what you enjoyed most about the talk. Our goal is to present each speaker with personal feedback cards, as we do at our events. At our events, we collect the cards right before we start with the round-table-discussion and hand them over in a box at the end of the event.

Please participate! Our speakers love it and we want to continue with this tradition.

Here, we will collect the messages and forward them via e.mail to our speaker:
