Home Edition 2020

Let’s keep the cultural life alive!  As a consequence of Covid-19, our social and cultural life has been reduced to a minimum and we all need to adapt to this unprecedented situation. Since we have a commitment with you, with the architecture scene, we came up with this new idea that is meant to lift your spirits and provide you with some genuine inspiration – at your home. Therefore, from Monday, March 23rd, onwards, each day at 7 p.m. we will be sharing one of the unique talks from the previous 35 events that we have held during the last 5 years.

TALK #34: Dörte Gatermann
This talk (held in German) is presented by swissFineLine.

About Dörte Gatermann

Dörte Gatermann was born in Hamburg in 1956 and completed her architectural studies at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the RWTH Aachen University. In 1984 she founded the architects Gatermann + Schossig in Cologne together with her later husband Elmar Schossig (1950-2009), which she leads today together with her longtime project manager and office partner Sven Gaeßler. The realization of the reconstruction of the historic Bayenturm by Dörte Gatermann to the FrauenMediaTurm was one of the first projects for the restructuring of Cologne’s Rheinauhafen. This became the archive and documentation center on current and historical women’s issues, a collaboration with Alice Schwarzer. Their most famous design is the KölnTriangle skyscraper.  Her projects include the Ministry of Education of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Roman Museum in the Archaeological Park Xanten.

AnA Düsseldorf 02 – Architects, not Architecture returned to Dusseldorf in 2017 after an wonderful first event the year before. We welcomed three well-known architects from the region of North Rhine-Westphalia to the stage of the Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf: Eckhard Gerber, Anne-Julchen Bernhardt and Dörte Gatermann.

This talk is presented with the support of swissFineLine
When Dörte Gaterman was a kid, she dreamed of exploring the rain forest and its wildlife. Even though she took an entirely different life path, she still feels very connected to nature. The large sliding windows of swissFineLine Even convey the fusion of inside and outside, and the feeling of being close to nature.

Unique architecture characterised by simplicity that transcends boundaries. The large premium sliding windows enable an exclusive living experience. With the lift and lower function, accessibility is further improved by precisely lifting the rollers in the threshold recess. In the open position, the threshold is fully flush with the floor and allowing barrier-free access.

swissFineLine Even combines barrier-free living experience with pure aesthetics. Check out their different system versions: www.swissfineline.ch

Virtual Feedback Cards for the Speaker

Dear viewer,
Maybe you have never attended our events, but perhaps know this already. Your effort is required! As the speakers share many of their personal experiences with us, we would like to present them a special gift, now digitally.

Please write into the text box below what you enjoyed most about the talk. Our goal is to present each speaker with personal feedback cards, as we do at our events. At our events, we collect the cards right before we start with the round-table-discussion and hand them over in a box at the end of the event.

Please participate! Our speakers love it and we want to continue with this tradition.

Here, we will collect the messages and forward them via e.mail to our speaker:
